General Information about Statutory Accident Insurance

Every student is statutorily covered free of charge from the beginning of their course of study. The coverage applies when attending lectures and seminars, during other activities run by the university such as excursions, visits and recognised study groups, trips organised by the university including those abroad and during student management activities.

Accident insurance during an internship

When on an internship, you are only covered by the statutory accident insurance if the internship is the legal and organisational responsibility of the university. If this is not the case, the cover does not apply.

Coverage may be provided by the employer's liability insurance association of the organisation where the internship is carried out. There is no statutory accident coverage of internships carried out abroad. If this applied to you we recommend that you take out private accident insurance.
